Dutch Municipal constabulary klewang (Cutlass) No.2. Serial number: 4605 on the scabbard, Excellent bright finished fullered steel klewang blade. Left side of the blade shows very small stains (tiny spots) only. No maker markings. Wide open blackened steel hilt and hand guard with a backpiece. Non detachable hilt. Excellent ribbed wooden grip, ( 7) . Spit in the top of the hand guard for a sword knot.
Excellent black leather M 1930 scabbard, marked : RVW (= Rijks Veld Wacht) and CW (=Centrale Werkplaats=Central Repair house) on the earband . All stitches intact and a steel internal chape fixed by a brass wire winding.
Total length: 76 cm. Width at the ricasso: 3.6 cm.
A Dutch Municipal constabulary klewang. Made around 1920 and used during WWII by the German/Dutch Schalkhaar Police.
