Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. "Special Order model". (JP100-171)
"Nederlands infanterie officiers "Buitenmodel sabel" M 1912 -Buitenmodel wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword "Special Order model". Superb bright finished slightly curved fullered blade. Beautiful brass hilt with a older style lion head and knuckle bow. The brass back of the hilt with so called: "ears". Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Excellent black ebony grip with a single twisted silver wire winding. Some very small chips are missing of the ebony grip near the ferule only.
Excellent- silver nickel plated metal scabbard. One loose hanging ring. Some user spurs only only.
Length: 94,5 cm. Width at the ricasso; 2,2 cm
The M 1912 infantry officers sword is in use from 1912 on to the present day. These scarce "Special Order models" were made in Germany at Eickhorn-Solingen and only around 1930. It is a more luxery model, popular between the two wars and not often encountered.
