Dutch Infantry officers sword M 1912.(JP100-171)
"Nederlands infanterie officiers sabel M 1912 -Wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. Excellent chromium plated, slightly curved fullered blade with the Dutch quality proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the blade. Leather washer is intact. German makers monogram: H.H.S. pierced by a vertical sword (= E.& F. Hörster-Solingen) etched in the fuller near the ricasso.
Excellent+ gilt brass hilt with lion head and knuckle bow. Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Most of the original gilt is still present. Excellent black ebony grip with an intact and complex twisted brass wire winding.
Excellent plated steel scabbard with one loose hanging ring. Some wear the the chromium plating and a single small dent near the drag only.
Total length: 94,5 cm. Width at the ricasso: 1,9 cm
The M 1912 infantry officers sword is in use from 1912 on to present day.
