"Nederlands Cavalerie Officierssabel uitleensabel M 1876. Lange sabel No.2./ Dutch Cavalry officers loan sword M 1876. No.2. Excellent+ curved bright finished fullered blade. Intact leather washer. The left ricasso with the German makers name: P.D. Lüneschloss over Solingen. A Dutch proof mark is written in a very early Dutch language way: EISENHAUER  (and not the later word: Yzerhouwer! ) on the reversed ricasso and a Dutch inspection marking: Crown over B . Excellent+ bright finished steel hilt (not plated!) and a steel hand guard with knuckle bow, three side bars and a forward swept quillon. 
Excellent wooden grip, covered with ray skin and a intact complex twisted silver wire winding. 
Excellent+ bright finished steel dents free scabbard with a single loose hanging ring only. 
The sword comes with a correct Senior NCO sword knot as found.
Total length: 99 cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,7 cm!. 

This Dutch M 1876 cavalry officers sword was made after 1888.  After 1888 the second loose hanging ring was officially removed.

This Dutch inspection marking on the ricasso indicates: Dutch Army property. This sword was "on loan: for Senior NCO's and officers who could not effort an own sword. It could be used at official occasions.
