Dutch Artillery Officer's sword M1876/95 No.2 by C. VAN HAL & ZOON - BREDA. (JP Page 89-145)

"Nederlands Artillery Officierssabel M 1876/95. Lange sabel No. 2 / Dutch Artillery officers sword M 1876/95 No.2.  Excellent+ slightly curved bright finished fullered slim blade. Intact leather washer. The left ricasso with the German makers trademark: a Kings Head and a Knight Helmet over W. K .& Co (+ Weyersberg and Kirschbaum - Solingen). The name over the Dutch retailer: C. VAN HAL & ZOON -BREDA in a scroll on the left side of the blade an the Dutch quality proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the other side. Excellent- nickle plated steel hilt and a steel hand guard with a knuckle bow, three side bars and a forward swept quillon. The nickle plating of the inside of the guard shows the usual wear only.
Excellent wooden grip, covered with ray skin and a intact and complex beautiful twisted brass wire winding. 
Excellent bright polished steel dents free scabbard with a single loose hanging ring only. 
Total length: 98 cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,2 cm!. 

This Dutch M 1876/95 No. 2. Artillery officers sword differs from the M1876 No.1. Cavalry officers sword by its longer and more slim blade. It was adopted in 1895 and at the same time, also by the KNIL. (=Dutch East India Army)
This sword dates back to around 1910.
