Belgian Gendarmerie and Fortress Artillery M 1889 Mauser carbine Cal. 7.65. Serial number 20918 Matching! on crossguard. Excellent very long straight bright finished fullered blade with Belgian inspection marking; Crown  EL in a trilob on the ricasso and a v in a box. Very good blued metal pommel and crossguard with forward swept quillon. Pommel and crossquard show very fine stains on some areas. Qullion with final and muzzle ring MRD 17,3 mm. Right crossguard is marked: O in a circle (= Unit marking:  8th. Fortress Artillery Regiment ) Finial is marked v in a box. Excellent wooden grips secured by bolts.
Very good black painted metal scabbard without serieus dents but a few small areas with fine pitting mainly near the throat / frog stud. Scabbard is marked: O in a circle, followed by the matching serial number: 20918.
