US vintage hand forged machete. Vietnam war era. (No ref.)

 Vintage Japanese made Hand Forged machete. Excellent but used heavy plain bolo blade. The bright finished blade is marked:  HAND - BOLO - FORGED in three lines in a circle on the left side. Excellent black plastic two pieces grip riveted to the blade tang by 5 alloy rivets. The grip is covert with green tape. The top of the grip is marked: MADE IN JAPAN 
Very good green canvas sheath with dark green plastic borders. US belt hook. The sheath shows light wear and several user spurs only. 

These heavy machetes were used in the seventies and during the Vietnam war by American troops.
