Turkish M 1890 shortened bayonet, reconstructed steel scabbard(ABCN361-1)(K158)((JN191-4)
Turkish Mauser M 1890-93. s#. 989 and another serial number? in Arabic on the reverse crossguard. Excellent bright finished shortened fullered blade with moon en star markings on blade spine and German makers trade mark of Alexander Coppel-Solingen in arabic on the ricasso. Bright finished pommel with T-slot is marked with the Tughra of the Sultan and a halve moon marking on both sides. Bright finished crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 15,5 mm. Removed quillon.
Excellent wooden grips secured with two rivets to the blade tang.
Excellent steel scabbard reconstructed from the leather scabbard mounts and a new steel body with (very unusual!) no dents and a round frog stud.
Total length 410 mm.
The Turkish M 1887 and 1890 bayonets were produced by German - Solinger companies. They were used in WWI and many were shortened after the Great War.
Very nice free of dents example.
