"Nederlands zware cavalerie manschappen sabel, Model No.3, M 1814 "/ Dutch Heavy cavalry (HC) troopers sword M 1814, Model No.3. Excellent straight double fullered blade with clip point. Intact leather washer. Brass hilt with brass hand guard and 3 side bars and brass pommel. Hand guard is marked Crown over T. Crossguard is marked LT in an oval. Front of the crossguard is marked; 0 over 103. Round grip is covered with excellent dark brown leather and intact brass twisted wire winding. Excellent all steel straight scabbard with two loose hanging rings. No dents. Drag is marked R B and on the reverse 11 in an oval.
Length of the sword 115 cm. Width at the ricasso 3,5 cm
A very heavy and rare Dutch Napoleonic era sword in an excellent+ condition. Very hard to find.
This rare sword once belonged to the collection of the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
