Dutch makers name HEMBRUG on the ricasso. The reverse ricasso is marked with a Dutch inspection marking Crown over Z. The blade shows fine pitting all over. Excellent blued bulbous pommel with the press catch in the lower left side. Pommel is also marked with a Dutch Crown over Z inspection mark. Excellent blued grossguard with muzzle ring MRD. 14.5 mm. These shortening was done by the Germans during WWII in 1942 and the rifles and altered bayonets were used by the German rear echelon troops and the Dutch Volunteers. The Germans retitled it: Seitengewehr 104 (h).
Not a very common bayonet!
