Italian (Piedmont) M 1836 Bersaglier bayonet (ABCN1260-2)(K667)(JN0)

Bersangliere Carbine M 1836. Serial number: 1817 L on crossguard. Excellent single edged plain blade with some stains only, is marked on the ricasso: SL in an oval. Excellent massive one piece brass hilt and crossguard. Crossguard with two short straight quillons. Large 17 mm steel nut on top of the pommel. Mortise slot to the right side of the grip. Long side mounted steel leaf spring that ends in a curve, near the crossguard. Pommel is marked in the mortise: 34 over 60  and on the top: 2 over 3.
Very good black leather scabbard with brass fittings without serieus dents. Leather body is marked: FS in an oval. Top mount, with an olive shaped brass frog stud, is marked: MV in an oval and the chape: PF in an oval. Al stitches intact.

Very rare and early heavy Italian (Piedmont) Jaeger bayonet.
