German Mauser M 1898 Rifle and Carbine.  M 98/05. Ersatz bayonet. Excellent bright finished fullered "butcher" blade. Model with a narrow short fuller. (Ref. AC44) Crown over a Gothic marking crisp on the blade spine.
Excellent blackened all two part steel hilt with a ribbed grip. Both grips are marked: The right grip: T and the left grip: H. Back of the grip is marked:  G R O S S . Grossguard and the short forward swept quillon are bright finished. Open muzzle ring. German inspection mark T-O slot in pommel. 
Excellent+ Blackened steel ersatz scabbard with tooling and a round finial imitating a leather scabbard.  No dents.
