German M 1916 ersatz bayonet. Field gray painted. (ABCN586-1)(K192)(JN93-1)(EB47)

German Mauser M 1898 Rifle, M 1888 rifle and French Lebel and Russian Mosin-Nagant rifles with adapter. Serial nr.: 9687 on the crossguard. Ersatz bayonet. Excellent+ bright finished straight fullered blade. (Ref. EB47). Crisp Gothic inspection marking on the blade spine.
Excellent field gray painted two part steel hilt riveted together. Oil hole in grip. Blued gossguard with a short round backward swept quillon. Open double diameter muzzle ring. 
Excellent and correct field gray painted steel Type IV ersatz scabbard with no serieus dents.

Note: Field gray painted ersatz bayonets were issued to the infantry. Black painted ersatz bayonets were issued to the cavalry, the motor transport drivers (Kraftfahrer) and motor cyclists. Believed to be manufactured by Koeller & Cie.(Ref: Anthony Carter: EB47)
