Description
German Mauser M 1898 Rifle and Carbine. M 98/05. Second type bayonet. Superb bright finished fullered "Butcher" blade. Very crisp German makers names: WEYERSBERG- KIRSCHBAUM- & CIE- SOLINGEN in four lines on the ricasso. Prussian cypher; Crown over W over date: '15 with a German inspection marking very crisp on the blade spine.
Excellent bright finished pommel, flash guard, crossguard and quillon. Two faint German inspection markings on pommel. Excellent ribbed wooden grips with an oil hole. T-O slot in pommel.
No scabbard.
