M 1898 Officers Kurzes. Superb bright finished fullered blade. German makers trademark: Kings head and Knight helmet on the ricasso. (= Weyersberg & Kirschbaum-Solingen. This trademark was used from 1883 till 1918. ) Excellent bright polished steel bird head pommel with large beak. No functional T-O slot. Working press button. Bright finished crossguard with short backwards swept quillon. Beautiful checkered hard rubber grips with oil holes on both sides, secured by three steel domed rivets.
Excellent and correct blackened metal scabbard with an Austrian style frog stud and no dents. Blade length 25,4 cm.
Comes in its very good and correct black patent leather dress belt frog as found. This model was used during WWI and the Weimar Republic with the Ks98 bayonets and other dress, walking out, bayonets. (AC 296)
This is a high quality Imperial (WWI ) private purchased officers bayonet! These pretty rare non functional WWI Kurzes are not made of chrome plated white metal like the WWII dress models, but from bright polished steel. These are very well made Kurzes and are produced around 1910.
