English M 1907 bayonet by EFD, first model, quillon removed,chrome plated and DP marked. (ABCN1024-2)(K317)(JN57-4)
British Lee Enfield (SMLE) No.7 rifle. First pattern, quillon removed and no oil hole. Excellent bright polished blade with first 3 cm chrome plated. Crown ER 1907 dated: 8 '9 and re-issue date: 8 '14 (Outbreak date of the Great War!). Maker's logo: EFD (=Enfield) on ricasso. British inspection (Enfield) mark and /I\ on reverse side of ricasso. There is also an unknown o mark on the ricasso!?. Tip of the blade is rounded for drill purpose. Excellent chrome plated pommel with obsolete mark and D.P. (= Drill Purpose) on pommel. Chrome plated crossguard with muzzle ring. 16 mm. MRD. Excellent walnut grips.
Excellent black leather scabbard with Enfield marking on the top mount and RE stamp ( = Remington ) on the chape. Teardrop frog stud and three rivets in the top mount. No dents to the bright polished mounts. Excellent Leather body is marked and dated: H.G.R.'09 and /I\ EFD and two Enfield inspection markings.
Comes with its rare and Excellent modified General Service MKII frog, modified in 1914 to fit the P 1907 bayonet by adding a leather insert. The frog was blancoed for dress purpose and is marked on the reserve side: C over 240. (AC 93)
