Vintage Japanese made Hand Forged machete. Vietnam war era. (No ref.)

Vintage Japanese made Hand Forged machete. Excellent but used heavy plain bolo blade. The bright finished blade is marked:  HAND - BOLO - FORGED in three lines in a circle on the left side. Excellent black plastic two pieces grip riveted to the blade tang by 5 alloy rivets. The grip is winded with tow tom give more comfort. The top of the grip is marked: MADE IN JAPAN 
Very good green canvas sheath with dark green plastic borders and a retaining strap with push button. The sheath shows light wear, stains and several user spurs only. 

Total length: 49,5 cm. Width at the bolo: 7 cm Width at the ricasso: 4,4 cm. Weight: 0.7 kg

These heavy machetes were used in the seventies and during the Vietnam war by American troops.
