German (Prussian) N 1889 Infantry Officers Degen (IOD) by Carl Eichorn.
German M 1889 Infantry Officers sword (IOD). Excellent silver-nickel plated double fullered straight blade with the German makers trademark; Back to back sitting squirrels over C.E. (= Carl Eichorn-Solingen) on the ricasso. Washer intact. Beautiful black composite single piece grip with an intact complex brass wire winding. A crowned monogram in brass of the German Kaiser Wilhelm on the right side of the grip. A brass crossguard with a half basked brass folding guard with a Crowned German eagle with sword and a cipher in its claws. A monogram W over II on its chest. Single brass hand guard.
Comes with an Excellent+ silver-nickel plated straight scabbard with a single loos hanging ring and no dents.

We have seen these swords in many scabbard variations. Blued, plated and black painted.
