English M 1827 Naval officers sword by Wilkinson
English M 1827 Officers sword. Minty straight fullered bright finished etched blade. Officers number: 105873 on the blade spine. Beautiful blade etched on both sides. Right side with monogram Crown over ER. (= Queen Elizabeth II) and leaves and anchor tow motives. Right side is etched Crown over anchor and floral leaves and anchor tow motives.
Right ricasso shows the British Royal Crest above BY APPOINTMENT TO HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II over SWORT CUTTLERS over WILKINSON over two crossed swords over LONDON. and Made in ENGLAND. The reverse ricasso shows a large W in a sunburst.(= WILKINSON)
Gilt lion head grip with a gilt closed guard. Lion head with no nut on top. Outside with a crowned loose anchor and line motives. Inside part of the guard can be used to fix the sword in its scabbard. Grip is covered with white ray skin and a gilt wire winding.
Minty leather scabbard with two engraved gilt ring bands and a gilt chape. All stitches intact and no dents to the mounts
