Uruguayan M 1891 bayonet.(ABC N 1470)(K681)(JN240-1)(JN240-3)

Belgian FN made Spanish / Brazilian M 1894 Mauser rifle. Serial number: 1589 on the back of the hilt. Excellent- bright finished Lebel type cruciform blade. Some light pitting on one spot of the blade only.Excellent long brass hilt with a T- slot and a push button in the pommel. Hilt is marked with a large: 2.  Excellent- bright finished steel crossguard with a forward swept quillon and a muzzle ring. MRD 15.5 mm. Some corrosion to the crossguard and quillon only. 
Excellent and correct very rare Uruguayan made brown leather scabbard, stitched on the rear side and with an integrated riveted brown leather belt frog as found.

These bayonets were obsolete French M1871 Daudeteau bayonets, modified in Uruguay in 1895.
A charming and interesting bayonet model, with quite a rare leather scabbard and frog, not often found!.
