Dutch infantry NCO short sword M 1859/ No.3. (JP83-128)
"Nederlands Infanterie Onderofficierssabel M 1859. Korte sabel No. 3." / Dutch Infantry NCO short sword M 1859, No.3. Serial number : 1176 on the crossguard. Excellent+ curved bright finished plain blade. Hard to read inspection marking on the ricasso. Excellent+ one piece cast brass hilt with a ribbed handle and a typical Dutch steel rivet in the center. Massive cast brass crossguard with a forward and a backward swept quillon. Forward swept quillon with an acorn Crossguard is dated: 1861.
Total length 60,5 cm.
These M 1859 NCO short swords are altered M 1819 No.2 Infantry troopers sword. Blade and knuckle bow were modified
