Dutch infantry officers sword M 1852 by J.v.d.L. (JP84-130)
"Nederlands Infanterie officiers sabel M. 1852 " / Dutch Infantry officers sword M 1852. Excellent++ heavy curved bright finished fullered blade. Rare German maker trademark: F. H (= Frederic HÖRSTER - SOLINGEN. Logo used from 1850 -1870.) on the right ricasso. Rare Dutch retailers name and residence: J v d L (= J. Van der Laat -Amsterdam) in a single straight line on the right blade side. The reverse side is marked with the very early Dutch quality marking: garantirt in a scroll.
Beautiful detachable M 1852 gilt brass unusual straight hilt ( See last pict. for a comparison)with a gilt brass pommel and an one piece black horn grip with an intact twisted brass wire winding. Gilt brass hand guard with a single side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon. 95% of the gilt is still intact.
Excellent- Berlin-silver scabbard with a two loose hanging rings. Some small dents towards the drag only.
Excellent early made Dutch M 1852 infantry officers sword. Made around 1852 or close to. This model was replaced in 1897
Total length: 95 cm Width at ricasso: 2,8 cm.
