Indian M 1943 No.1 MKIII bayonet by R.F.I.(ABCN575-3)(K185)(JN59-3)
Lee Enfield (SMLE) No1 Mk.III. rifle. Excellent + blued plain blade marked Crown, G.R.I., Mk II, 10 '43, R.F.I. (=Rifle Factory Ishapore, October 1943) on the ricasso and three Indian inspection marking: IS383, IS63 and IS184 on reverse side. False edge. Squared pommel with oil hole and crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 16.5 mm. Excellent wooden grips secured with screw bolts.
Correct unaltered M 1907 black leather scabbard. All stitches intact and no dents to the fittings. Most of these long scabbards were later shortened.
This is a No.4 Mk.III but it is not correct marked on the ricasso. It is marked Mk.II which is an error.
Very nice example in an Excellent+ condition.!
