German M1898 NCO sawback bayonet.(ABCN1554)(K428)(JN83-2)
German M 1898 Mauser rifle. Model M 1898 sawback n.A. NCO bayonet. Excellent- long fullered sawback blade with 28 sharp teeth. Blade is staining and shows some user spurs only. Rare for this model: German makers name: E. & F. HÖRSTER - SOLINGEN hard to read on the ricasso. Blade spine is crisp marked Crown over 11 and Crown over a Gothic inspection marking
Very nice pommel with two German inspection markings on top. Pommel with T-O slot. Crossguard with short backwards swept quillon. Excellent wooden (2) grips with 9 ribs, secured to the blade tang with two screw bolts.
Excellent tooled black leather scabbard. Bright finished mounts with no dents. All stitches intact.
Scarce German NCO bayonet.
