English No.4 MK II* socket bayonet by P.S.& S.Ltd and T.R.M.I with rare experimental MkII tubular scabbard (ABCN340(K4)(JN61-1)
Enfield 303. No.4 rifle. Excellent parkerized socket and round bright finished blade. Excellent blade tip. Socket is marked No.4 MKII* and P.S.& S. Ltd (=Prince - Smith & Stells, Keighly, Yorkshire) and the reverse side with the logo's of two British subcontractors : T.R.M.I(= ) and F&co.(= Fisher) The front is marked in large digits N56 (Rare dispersal code for P.S.&S.).
Comes with the rare and experimental MkII steel tubular scabbard marked S 191 on the tip (= dispersal code for Franco-British Electical Company, Tempel Park, Hurley, UK.) Excellent blued example with an alloy throat marked with a W in a circle and /I\. It is missing one of its throat retaining screws. Comes with a minty M 1937 green khaki frog.
The steel MkII tubular scabbard is made by the Franco-British Electrical Company, Tempel Park, Hurley. They only made 25.000 tubular scabbards, all in 1944 (Also see JN 60-3 for the scabbard)
