Belgian made Venuzuelan M 1924/49 bayonet(ABCN872-3-5)(K278)(JN241-3)
Belgian SAFN M 1949 rifle 7 mm. Serial number: 6682 on the pommel. Minty straight long fullered bright fininished blade. Minty bright finnished pommel with T-O slot and crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 18.3 mm. (The Belgium FN Mauser M 1924 export bayonet has a MRD of 15.5 mm.)
Excellent+ wooden grips secured to the blade tang by screw bolts.
Excellent blued scabbard with German style frog stud and no dents.
Venuzuela found the Belgium M 1949 bayonet to short and ordered a longer bayonet for their SAFN automatic rifle in 1950. FN only made 8.000 M 1924/49 bayonets for Venuzuela. This example has serial number 6682.
Quite a rare bayonet in an Excellent+ condition!
