US M 1917 bayonet by WINCHESTER. (ABCN1040-1-a)(K322)(JN223)

Lee Enfield/ Eddystone M1917 rifle. Excellent parkerized fullered blade with first 2 cm blackened. US makers logo: W in a circle (= Winchester) and 1917 very crisp on ricasso. On the reverse side: U.S., Flaming Bomb, X and Eagle head over 22 . Parkerized pommel with an oil hole and crossguard with a muzzle ring MRD 15,5 mm. Excellent walnut wooden grips with two nuts secured to the blade tang by two screw bolts.
Excellent and correct US M17 green leather scabbard with brass US belt hooks. All stitches intact. Scabbard mounts are both marked.

Winchester made M 1917 bayonets are far less common than Remington M 1917 bayonets and pretty hard to find. Winchester made 395.000  M 1917 bayonets against Remington who made 1.565.644 bayonets!
The M 1917 bayonet was also used with a special adapter during both world wars on the Remington M 10 and the Winchester M 97 trench shotgun.
