German WWI M 1916 ersatz bayonet, altered and used by Turkey. (ABCN339 Variation)(K0)(JN0)(Anthony Carter EB 28)
Turkish M 1903 / M 1935 Mauser rifle. Very good bright finished shortened fullered blade. The blade shows fine scratching only. Excellent blued cast steel hilt with rounded pommel beak and rectangular oil hole on the back of the hilt. T-O slot in pommel. Old massive muzzle ring and crossguard filed away, the hilt has been shortened and a new large crossguard with high muzzle ring, MRD 16 mm, is placed over the hilt and fixed by braising. The mortise slot is shortened by a brass welding. This is all crudely done.
Excellent black painted steel shortened German ersatz scabbard. A Turkish style frog stud is added. A single dent on the reverse side only.
Total length: 36,9 mm. Blade length: 25 mm.
German M 1916 WWI ersatz bayonet, sold to Turkey after the Great War and around 1935 altered and shortened. So used with the Turkish M 1903 / M 1935 Mauser rifle in WWII.
