Swedish M 1867 socket bayonet by Carl Gustafs Stad.(ABCN1046-1)(K888)(JN179-2)
Swedish Remington Rolling block rifle M 1867, Cal. 12.17 mm. Serial number: HH 5490 JG on the shank. Excellent socket, MRD 18.8 mm. and long cruciform blade with sharp point. Right side of the shank shows Swedish makers trademark: Crown over C (= Carl Gustafs Stad) and Swedish inspector markings: O.K. and W.N.
There is a crisp unit marking: 17 R. 6 K. over No. 29. in two lines on the top of the socket.
Total length: 557 mm.
The M 1867 socket bayonet were made by three companies: In the US by Remington ( only 9.999) and in Sweden at Carl Gustaf Stad (Number unknown) and at Husqvarna (Number unknown).
