Description
Swedish Remington Rolling block rifle M 1867/89 8 mm. Serial number: 4191 on left side of the shank. Excellent blued socket MRD 15.5 and long cruciform blade with sharp point. Shank with Swedish maker's trademark: Crown over large C (= Carl Gustavs, Stads Gevarsfaktori ) and two small inspector markings J.B. and GM on the right side of the shank.
There is unit a marking: 27 RB No. 790 (= Infantry regiment no. 27, rifle number 790) in two lines on top of the socket.
Socket has an unusual press catch for a socket bayonet. It has an internal coil spring.
Very nice and interesting socket bayonet.
