Austrian captured Imperial Russian M 1891 Mosin-Nagant rifle. Serial number on the ricasso. Excellent blued cruciform blade with screw driver tip. The 30 ° socket is Russian maker marked by a Bow and Arrow (= Tula arsenal)
Rare Austrian made green painted steel ersatz scabbard with an Austrian frog stud and a ball finial. No dents to the scabbard .
During WWI, Austria and Germany captured a great many Russian Mosin Nagant rifles and bayonets. Be course the Russians did not make scabbards with their socked bayonets, (the bayonets were permanent fixed to the rifles), Austrians and Germans made their own ersatz scabbards. They differ in the frog stud type.
