"Nederlands Gemeente Politie (Veldwachter) hartsvanger sabel van rond 1850"/Dutch rural constable Hirschfänger, around 1850. Massive and long bright finished plain blade showing light pitting all over. Leather washer intact. No marking nor makers name. Beautiful massive brass hilt with staghorn grips fixed to the blade tang by large oval rivets. Very nice brass crossguard with a forward and a backward swept quillon. Beautiful brass clam shell.
Total length: 72 cm. Width at the ricasso: 3 cm.
No scabbard.
