Dutch Jaeger Guard officers sword M 1852 by H.W.B. -HAAG.(JP84-132 bis)
"Garde Jager officier's sabel M 1852"./ Dutch Jaeger Guard officers sword M 1852. Minty curved fullered bright blade with a beautiful deep etching on both sides. German makers trade mark: ORIGINAL over a Sitting Squirrel with a sword over EICKHORN-SOLINGEN (= Carl Eickhorn - Solingen. This trademark was used from 1935 till 1941) on the ricasso and a rare Dutch retailers name and residence in in a box on the right blade side: H.W.B. over HAAG (= H.W. Blomjous -The Hague) Intact red felt washer.
Blade is beautiful and deep etched on both sides with hunter's trophies, hunting rifles, hunting horns, gun dogs and follicants. Blade spine is completely etched and nicely deep etched named: REGIMENT JAGERS .
Excellent cast gilt brass hilt with a flat pommel (No nut on top like the Dutch Infantry M 1852 officers sword). Excellent one piece black ribbed horn grip with an intact gilt wire winding. Superb gilt brass straight hand guard with a small side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Excellent- bright finished steel scabbard with one loose hanging ring and some small indentations/user spurs on one inner side and the near the draft only.
It comes with its genuine and Excellent silver wire sword knot with the rare green Jaeger Guard cord and an orange core.
This sword is made around 1937. In 1913 the Regiments Grenadiers and Jagers were split. After 1913 the blades were marked: Regiment Jagers or Regiment Grenadiers.
