"Nederlands infanterie officiers sabel M 1912 -Wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. Excellent bright finished slightly curved fullered blade with the Dutch retailers name and residence: J.F. SEGERS & ZOON - BREDA in a scroll on the left side of the blade and the Dutch quality proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the reverse side. Red leather washer is intact. German makers monogram: H.H.S. pierced by a vertical sword (= E.& F. Hörster-Solingen) etched on the ricasso and covered by the lanquet.
Excellent+ gilt brass hilt with lion head and knuckle bow. Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Excellent black ebony grip with an intact and a twisted brass wire winding.
Excellent silver nickel plated metal scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. Some very light usual wear to the plating only but no dents.
Total length: 94,5 cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,1 cm
The M 1912 infantry officers sword is in use from 1912 on to present day.
