"Nederlands infanterie officiers sabel M 1912 -Wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. Excellent bright finished slightly curved fullered blade. Leather washer is intact. Excellent brass hilt with lion head and knuckle bowl. Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Excellent and scarce hilt variation. The wooden grip is covered by beautiful grey ray skin and a complex twisted brass wire winding.
Excellent silver nickel plated metal scabbard. Some usual minor wear the the nickel plating only. One loose hanging ring and no dents to the scabbard.

The M 1912 infantry officers sword is in use from 1912 on to present day. This is a hilt variation made by Eickhorn - Solingen around 1930. These were popular by officers of the KNIL (Dutch Royal Dutch Indies Army - Indonesia) and are quite scarce.
