This Home Guard officers model differs from the M 1852 infantry officers sword in its finish only. The hilt of the M 1852 Home Guard model is always in Berlin-Silver, the Infantry model is finished in brass.
A very nice and early M 1852 Home guard officers sword in an Excellent condition. The Dutch Home Guard was dissolved in 1901. This example must have been made before 1888, the year the second ring officially was removed.
