Mauser M98 rifle. Excellent bright finished fullered blade with crisp very rare German maker's name : E. SIEPMANN & Co. - SOLINGEN on the ricasso.
Prussian W over date: 17 and Gothic inspection mark on the blade spine. Excellent bright finished crossguard and pommel with T-O slot and Gothic inspection marking.
Excellent light wood grips. Hilt with excellent dents free flash guard.
Very good blackened WWII scabbard with no dents.bard.
Ernst Siepmann & Co. of Solingen is an extremely rare maker of the second model M 84/98 WWI bayonet. This company only made this bayonet in 1917. Only a few are known.
