German modified Italian M1891 frog for the German M84/98 bayonet. (George Wheeler Page 254)(BBF 326)
Italian M 1870/91 frog. German modification of an Italian M 1891 frog and used with the German M 84/98 third model, bayonet. Modified by using a green leather back part of an Italian M 1870/91 frog and adding a by sewing and rivetting a black leather German M 84/98 frog front part.
According to George Wheeler; these frogs were made around 1942 and are prety rare and seldom encountered today. (See last picture)
