German M1884/98 third model bayonet by CVL 44. Very rare phosphate finish and riveted wooden grips (Grey Ghost!) (ABCN454-9)(K142)(JN100-3)
Mauser M 84/98 carbine. Serial nummer: 4804 O on ricasso. Excellent crudely made and phosphate finished fullered blade with clear machine marks. German maker's name and date in code 44 CVL = W.K.C., Weyersberg-Kirschbaum & Co., Stahl u. Eisenwarenfabrik-Solingen 1944) on ricasso. Excellent late phosphate finished pommel and crossguard. Single Waffenambt stamp on pommel. Flash guard with no dents. Single German marking on pommel: WaA 618. Excellent wooden grips secured to the blade by two steel rivets and not by screw bolts!
Excellent phosphate finished metal scabbard is matching maker and date marked: 44 CVL, serial number 4340 0.
Not matching serial numbers, but same makers and dates of a late year of production. Serial number is near!
Extremely rare German last production 84/98 bayonet! Seldom encountered. Also called Last Ditch or Grey Ghost bayonet by collectors.
