German M 1898/05 nA. bayonet by Weyersberg-Kirschbaum. 1920 and Schutzpolizei Potsdam unit marked. (ABCN804-9)(K628)(JN86-1)

German Mauser M 1898 Rifle. Serial number: 674.  Second model M 98/05 bayonet (nA). Superb bright finished fullered "Butcher" blade with crisp German makers name: WEYERSBERG- KIRSCHBAUM- &Cie- SOLINGEN in four lines on the ricasso. Blade spine is very faint marked with the Prussian Royal cypher W, date; 1? and a crisp crowned  inspection mark. Excellent bright pommel and crossguard with "low Ears" and quillon. Dents free flash guard. Crossguard with Weimar Republik (Reichswehr) dating: 1920 and a German Police unit marking: S.P.d. 674 (= SchutzPolizei Potsdam district, serialnumber: 674 ). Gothic marking on crossguard facing the blade.  Excellent ribbed walnut grips secured to the blade tang by two screw bolts. Oil hole in grip. T-O slot in pommel.
Very good bright polished steel scabbard with serial number: 358. Throat is also marked:  358. Frogstud is marked: S3.  Some user spurs but no serieus dents. 

Very interesting Weimar Police (Potsdam) marked Butcher in an EXCELLENT + condition
