German M 1884/98 Sawback bayonet, 2nd model by S/155 G (E. u. F. Horster-Solingen- 1935(Ref: Klaus Lubbe. Deutsche Seitengewehre und bajonette))

Mauser M98 rifle. Serial number: 2754 over e on the ricasso. Another unknown serial number: 4390 is stamped on the crossguard.  Excellent blued fullered sawback blade with a crisp secret German maker's S-code:  S/155 G  (= E. u. F. Hörster - Solingen 1935) on the reverse side of the ricasso..
Excellent blued pommel with T-O marked with two  Drop wing Eagle stamps. Slotted catch. Excellent  wooden grips secured to the blade tang by two slotted screw bolts. Hilt with a flash guard. 
Excellent- blued WWII steel scabbard marked with the name of a rare maker: J.Sch 1941 (= (Jetter und Scheerer- Tuttlingen 1941) and serial number: 9299 over a. No dents to the scabbard, but some peppering/pitting near the tip only..

3rd Model 84/98 "Dritte Reich" bayonets with sawbacks are extremely rare. They seldom show up and if found, in many cases these are early secret S/ code models like this one. Experimental?
