German M 1884/98 bayonet, first model by ALEX.COPPEL. Unit marked (ABCN445-1)(K139)(JN81-1)
Mauser M1871, 1871/84, 1888, 1898 rifle. Very good+ bright finished blade with short fuller. Blade edge with light field sharpening only. Not very serieus. German maker's name ALEX. COPPEL - SOLINGEN in two lines crisp on the ricasso. Prussian Crown over W 88 and inspection mark on blade spine. M 98 pommel type with T-O Slot and with two German inspection markings. Excellent humpback style grip with wooden grips and an oil hole, attached to the blade tang by two screw bolts. Bade tang shows three more inspection markings. Bright finished pommel and crossguard with no muzzle ring. Crossguard is Regimental marked 240. R. 6. 159 (= 240e Infantry Regiment, 6th Batallion, rifle number 159 )
Excellent+ black leather scabbard with tooling, all stitches intact and bright finished steel fittings. Fittings show German inspection markings on the top mount, chape and the throat.
