German M 1884/98 bayonet, first model by ALEX.COPPEL. Unit marked. (ABCN445-1)(K139)(JN81-1)

Mauser M1871, 1871/84, 1888, 1898 rifle. Excellent bright finished blade with short fuller. German maker's name ALEX. COPPEL - SOLINGEN  in two lines crisp on the ricasso.  Prussian Crown over W 87 and inspection mark very crisp on the blade spine. M 98 pommel type with T-O Slot and with two crisp German inspection markings. Excellent hump back style grip with wooden grips and an oil hole, attached to the blade tang by two screw bolts. Bright finished pommel and crossguard with no muzzle ring. Crossguard is unit marked: 4. R. 10. 15. ( 4th. Grenadier-Regiment King Friedrich the Great. 10th. Battalion. Rifle number 15. Home base: Rastenburg.) 
Very good black leather scabbard with all stitches intact and bright finished metal fittings. Top mount is regimental marked: 143. R. 3. 87. (=143 Unter-Elsassisches Infantry Regiment. 3rd. Battailion, Rifle no. 87. Home base Strassburg and Mutzig ) There is another crossed out unit number: 17. R. 15. 87. (= 17th Infantry Regiment Graf Barfuss. 15th Battalion. Home base: Mörchingen)   Fittings show German inspection markings on the top mount and the throat.
