A very unique Extra-Seitengewehr of the S 84/98 pattern for walking out. These bayonets looked too much like issue 84/98 bayonets and were not very popular by the soldiers and are therefor quite scarce. They were marketed as "Engineer" (Pionier) bayonets by the manufacturers, but were used by any branch of the military, including Police.
This Luftwaffe acid etched example is a very seldom seen model with a 84/98 style pommel and no quillon.(See book: History of German Bayonets by George T.Wheeler. Page 131 Paul Seilheimer -Solingen- engraving Style 2) )
It is also unique be course of: made by a scarce maker and the combination of this particular dress bayonet with its scarce frog!
Very nice, EXC+ condition and a unique example!
