German modified French M 1886-15 Lebel bayonet , Seitengewehr 102(f) (ABCN698-3)(K223)(JN71-2)(GW Page 211)
French Lebel M 1886/ M 186/93 rifle. Serial number: F 88783 on the quillon. Superb bright finished cruciform shortened blade. Three crisp French inspection markings on the crossguard. Excellent round Berlin-silver grip. Crosguard with round release catch and forward swept quillon. Excellent blued shortened steel scabbard with a typical German altered and a pinned halve ball chape. Serial number: 20128 on the frog loop.
Total length: 460 mm.
These French Lebel bayonets were shortened by the Germans in WWII and carried by German military and Police in occipied France.
