Description
French M 1874 Gendarmerie Carbine. Serial number: G 58784 on the left shank. Excellent++ bright finished cruciform long blade. Socket with a Z-shaped slot and a locking ring with a securing screw on top of the body. Right side of the shank is marked with three French controle markings: V, H and J under a crown in a circle.
This is a modified M 1866 Chassepot socket bayonet for the M 1874 Gras Gendarmerie carbine.
