British makers trademark: P. in a Circle (=Poole Arsenal ) and date: 1946 crisp on the ricasso. Blackened pommel with circular mortise slot and clearance hole. British inspection marking on pommel top and /I\ 97 on mortise slot. Minty wrap around 2 parts wooden grip secured by two screw bolts.
