Belgian M 1889/35 Infantry short bayonet. Bushed muzzle ring. Used in Congo(ABCN399-4)(K116)(JN17-2)

Belgian FN Mauser M 1889/35 Infantry carbine. Serial number: 9117 struck over an old serial number on crossguard. Very good blackened fullered blade. Blued blade shows some light field sharpening, but no pitting. Faint Belgian inspection marking on the ricasso. Excellent T-slotted bright finished pommel and crossguard with forward swept guillon. Crossguard is unusual marked above the muzzle ring and facing the blade K (Karabijn?) 1530.  Muzzle ring is bushed to MRD 15.5 mm. Excellent wooden grips secured by two screw bolts.
Very good well used black painted metal scabbard with hard to read serial number on the frog stud. No dents, but some area's of light to moderate pitting.

These were altered and arsenal refurbished M 1889 Infantry rifle bayonets. The muzzle ring is bushed to 15,5 mm to fit the Mauser FN M 1935 carbine. They saw intensively service by the Belgium colonial troops in the Belgium Congo in Afrika.
Rare colonial bayonet, not often found.
