Swedish M 1864(K8) Heavy Cavalry troopers sword
Swedish M 1864 (K8) Heavy Cavalry troopers sword. Superb very heavy bright finished curved fullered blade. Brown leather washer intact. Swedish inspectors markings : H.H. (= Holm, Harrold) and J.S. on the ricasso. Excellent brass non-detachable hilt with a brass hand guard (Bowl) with one large opening. Wooden grip with 11 ribs covered with brown horse leather. Brass rivet between the 5th and 6th rib. Brass back of the hilt. Forward swept quillon. marked: 3 over 62 (= 3th Squadron and serial number 62). Inside with inspector marking: A.F. (=Fast, Carl August) Brown leather finger loop in hilt bowl. There was never a wire winding on this troopers model.
Excellent bright finished steel scabbard with to loose hanging rings and no dents. Scabbard is crisp regimental marked to a Grenadier Regiment: 7. R3. SN74(= 7th Regiment Köningliches Småland Grenadier korps, 3th Squadron, Serial number 74). Back of the scabbard shows another Swedish inspection marking: A.LK (=Kinnander, August Lars Wilhelm.)
