Australian M 1943 Mk I Owen SMG. minty parkerized fullered blade, with a little field sharpening to the edged of the blade only. The blade is marked M.A. over 1907 (= Munitions Australia- Orange Arsenal) over I over date: 3 '45 on the ricasso. Reverse side is marked /I\, X and OA. Parkerised T-slot pommel and crossguard with muzzle ring. MRD 16,5 mm. Minty wooden grips both crisp marked: SLAZ '44. Oil hole in pommel. Excellent Australian brown leather scabbard with all stitches in tact, a round frog stud and no dents to the parkerised top mount and chape. Top mount is marked;MA and chape :OA. Leather scabbard body is marked with a large W.
Rare Minty bayonet. During WWII there were only 19.000 Australian M 1943 Owen SMG produced.
